Heart of Dallas is a nonprofit organization that hosts sports and entertainment events benefiting Dallas nonprofits.

The Heart of Dallas is a 501c3 nonprofit organization originally centered on the Heart of Dallas Bowl game which was the official launch event on January 1, 2013 at Cotton Bowl Stadium presented by PlainsCapital Bank. Demonstrating Heart of Dallas’ commitment to its home city, net profits from the event went to benefit the homeless population in Dallas.

In 2013, Heart of Dallas inked a deal with ESPN Regional Television to produce the Heart of Dallas Bowl Game through 2019. As part of the arrangement, ESPN agreed to contribute $150,000 per year to advance the mission of Heart of Dallas.

By staging “must-attend” sports and entertainment programming, Heart of Dallas hopes to raise community awareness of compelling causes and to inspire the next generation of influencers and philanthropists in Dallas who are currently young professionals in the sports and entertainment markets.

In 2014, Heart of Dallas started a new initiative in the form of a young professionals group composed of individuals in the sports and entertainment industries ages 25-40. This group will provide professional development and networking opportunities in addition to hosting major events to further increase Heart of Dallas’ fundraising capacity.
